All alumni may vote. Alumni are defined as those who have matriculated at Dartmouth and whose class has graduated, or who have received a graduate degree from the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. All alumni of the professional schools are eligible to vote. Honorary degree recipients, exchange students, and adopted alumni are not eligible to vote.

4. Could you clarify the ways in which alumni can vote in this election?
There are two ways in which you may cast your vote:
1. Paper Ballot
A paper ballot, a list of candidate biographies and statements, and a return envelope were mailed first-class on Friday, April 25, to all alumni who are eligible to vote. To vote using this paper ballot, simply detach and fill out the ballot and mail it using the pre-addressed envelope provided. Nothing additional is required, and identification numbers are not needed. If you did not receive a ballot, or you need a replacement ballot, please email dartmouth.alumni.relations@dartmouth.edu and we will have one mailed to you.
2. Online Voting
On Monday, April 28, the College sent alumni with active email addresses an invitation to vote online. The sender was "Dartmouth Alumni Relations" and the subject line read "The Dartmouth Association of Alumni invites you to cast your vote online!" This email contained the Dartmouth ID number and Personal Identification Number (PIN) that you will need to vote online. The voting Web site is: http://www.electionadmin.com/dartmouth.htm.
If you did not receive the email, please contact us at dartmouth.alumni.relations@dartmouth.edu or call us at (603) 646-2258. Reminder emails (with ID numbers and PINs included) will be sent periodically throughout the election period to alumni who have not yet voted online. The next reminder email will be sent to alumni on Friday, May 2, with the headline "Here Is Your Dartmouth ID Number for Voting." Again, this email will contain your Dartmouth ID number and your PIN.
Your vote must be received by 11:59 pm EDT on June 5, 2008, to be counted. The Association of Alumni constitution also stipulates that alumni may vote in person at the association annual meeting, which takes place on Tuesday, June 10, at 1 pm in 105 Dartmouth Hall in Hanover.
