Statement
Like most alumni, I have a deep and abiding love of Dartmouth College, and a desire to give back as much as I can to the institution that has done so much for me. My experiences on the Alumni Council, and working with members of the Association of Alumni Executive Committee (including three years in the early 2000s spent discussing and proposing improvements to alumni organizations and the trustee election process), give me a strong background and deep knowledge of current and historic issues concerning the association. I have worked hard during the last decade to help improve the alumni-College relationship, and I believe we are experiencing an extremely healthy period where the trustees and administration are respectful of alumni views and excited about working with alumni to further Dartmouth's mission in the face of ongoing and new challenges. In Jim Kim, Dartmouth has an inspirational president, and it is very important that alumni continue to be involved with the College. Running fair and focused trustee elections is extremely important in order to encourage the very best alumni to serve as trustees of Dartmouth College. I believe the representative slate of alumni nominated by the association will help facilitate that process.
